We’ve put together some of the most common queries about PosturePlast to hopefully give you all the information you need to use it effectively. If you can't find what you need to know here contact us at info@postureplast.co.uk

How does PosturePlast work?

Once applied, PosturePlast keeps your spine in the right place – what Adam calls the safe zone. PosturePlast will help you to stand, bend and twist in the right way, improving your posture and so put less stress and strain on your back. It will also reduce the tension in your back which will help with the back pain.

If you have a disc problem, PosturePlast will hold the spine and body in the correct posture, keeping the fluid around the disc in place and allowing it to repair and heal uninterrupted by further damage.

Who should not use PosturePlast?

PosturePlast is not suitable for children as it is not designed for smaller bodies. Do not use if you have  had known reactions to plasters.

Postureplast should not be used on broken or sensitive skin or wounds.

Do not use PosturePlast if you have sciatic symptoms into both your legs. You should contact your doctor before use if this is the case. If you have pain or any change to sensation in the crotch area or change to passing water you should contact your doctor before use.

Can I use PosturePlast when pregnant?

Yes. Because PosturePlast contains no drugs and does not use heat or cold, it is safe to use during pregnancy.

Can I use PosturePlast with painkillers or other medicines?

Yes, you can as PosturePlast will not interact with any medication. We hope that you won’t need painkillers once PosturePlast has started working on correcting your posture.

Can I use PosturePlast with a TENS machine?

Because PosturePlast is worn on your back it is likely that you will not be able to place TENS machines pads on the area required – the TENS pads need to be in contact with your skin.

Are there any side effects?

There are no side effects of using PosturePlast. When you take the PosturePlast off some of the glue may be left behind on your skin. You can remove this with soap and water, medical wipes or makeup remover.

A very small number of people may find that the PosturePlast irritates their skin. Take the PosturePlast off as soon as you notice these symptoms.

How do I know if PosturePlast is in the right place?

Once the PosturePlast is on you should find that it controls how much you can move but it won't stop you doing your usual activities. It may feel like you can’t move as freely as before – for example, you might sit more upright or you may not be able to bend or twist as far as you could without the PosturePlast but this is your body operating in the correct safe zone. Because PosturePlast encourages you to sit in a more upright position you may need to adjust your car seat or the desk and chair when you sit to work or use a computer.

If I don’t apply it right the first time, can I pull it off and reapply?

Sorry - PosturePlast cannot be peeled off and reapplied. Once it is applied and then removed it loses its adhesiveness and shape, so will not work properly. We recommend that before you peel off the protective backing, you test the positioning on your back first. If you are not sure about putting it on, look at our how to use film and instructions

What will happen if I put it on in the wrong place?

This won’t harm your back, but it will mean that you won’t get the full benefits of using the PosturePlast, but it will will work for you.

Can I reuse PosturePlast?

No. PosturePlast can only be used once. When you take it off it will lose its support and stickiness and will not work properly. Always put on a new PosturePlast.

If you have lower back pain all the time, PosturePlast is best worn all day, every day. After a while, you should learn good posture habits which will reduce the pain and mean you don't need to continue wearing it long term. If you have back pain only when you play a sport or do activities like gardening or DIY, then you can wear PosturePlast when you’re doing these activities.
